Everything in my Espresso Workflow

Everything in my Espresso Workflow

May 9, 2025

This is everything I use, start to finish, when I make espresso at home. I believe in using just enough tools to keep things smooth, clean, and consistent. Nothing here is just for show. Every item plays a role in making better coffee or making the process more enjoyable. Taking my time to make coffee is one of my favorite daily rituals.

Below is the gear in the order I use it. Each one has a quick note on why I love it and what it helps improve.

Fellow Atmos Bean Storage

This is how I store my beans. The Fellow Atmos removes oxygen with a simple twist and helps keep coffee fresh longer. I like the clear version so I can always see how much is left.

RDT Spray Bottle

I use a quick mist of water on the beans before grinding. This helps reduce static and keeps grounds from clinging to everything. It’s a tiny step that keeps the workflow clean.

Subminimal Subscale

Amazon Link

This is the scale I use to weigh out my dose before grinding. It’s super compact and fast, and it looks really clean on the bar. It’s just the right size for single dosing and keeps the whole setup

Niche Duo Grinder (Espresso Burrs)

Niche's Website

My daily grinder. With the espresso burrs installed, it gives fluffy and consistent grounds without clumps. It’s quiet and perfect for single dosing which keeps things clean and precise. I have used a handful of other grinders, but always come back to the Duo.

Normcore Tamping Mat

This keeps the counter clean and gives a stable place for prepping shots. It also protects the portafilter and helps everything stay put while tamping.

WDT Tool + Dosing Ring

I use this to break up clumps and evenly distribute the grounds. The dosing ring helps keep everything inside the basket. Together they make my prep more consistent.

Normaldose Tamper

Normaldose Coffee

This tamper stops when the right pressure is applied. It’s one less thing to think about and gives me the same result every time. That consistency really helps.

Paper Filter Under the Puck

I add a paper filter to the bottom of the portafilter basket. It reduces channeling and makes cleanup easier. It’s a small step that improves the shot.

Puck Screen

This sits on top of the puck after tamping. It helps distribute water evenly and keeps the group head cleaner. It’s an easy way to make extractions more reliable.

BOOKOO THEMIS Mini Coffee Scale

Amazon Link

This is the scale I use under the cup to weigh my shots. It’s quick, accurate, and fits perfectly on the drip tray. I like that it’s rechargeable, has a built-in timer, and shows you the flow rate as you extract your coffee.

Lelit Bianca

Find it on Coffee Bros

My espresso machine. It’s a dual-boiler with pressure profiling so I can dial in every shot exactly how I want. It’s powerful and compact and beautiful to use every day.

Weber Workshops Unifilter

Weber Workshops

This is a one-piece bottomless portafilter. There are no screws or gaps so the water flows smoothly. It also helps me spot any channeling and clean up my technique. I use a 20g dose with this portafilter.

Slow Pour Supply Milk Pitcher

SlowPourSupply

This is my go-to for steaming milk. The shape makes it easy to pour clean latte art and it feels balanced in the hand. A small upgrade that makes a big difference.

My Cups: Flur, NotNeutral, Kruve

Amazon Link

I rotate between a few favorites depending on the drink. Flur, NotNeutral, and Kruve each offer something different.

If you’re just getting started, you don’t need all of these tools. But if you’re curious what I actually use every day, this is it. Everything here has a purpose and helps me enjoy the process of making espresso at home.

If you are looking for something not called out in this list, you might be able to find it on my Storefront.
